Hot rolled sheet pile PU7 PU9 and PU11 are possible to excavate using large power shovels instead of less efficient methods, such as using clamshells and hand excavation. Sheet piling PU16 and PU20 models hydrostatic pore water pressures by defining the hydrostatic pressure at a point as proportional to its depth below the water level. This allows freer movement within the excavation.Use the dialog box to modify the unit weight of water, if required.
The higher initial PU 7 PU 9 piling sheets of the PU 11 tieback system are PU 16 justified by the PU 20 economies of an unobstructed excavation. If a total PU7 pore pressure distribution other than this PU9 triangular, hydrostatic, distribution is required then the user PU11 must also input additional pore pressures for each layer The lateral earth pressures exerted against the steel sheet piling may be calculated by any of the accepted PU16 conventional methods using the at-rest coefficient instead of the active coefficients.A water level PU20 will only be active in the stages that are selected using the Stage Composer.
